Project Location: Project Description: Home Front recognizes the benefits of arranging public/private partnerships to extend affordable housing opportunities. Lufkin Commons along with previously built Austin Perry Corners in Warrensburg and Westfield Heights in Fort Ann are prime examples of how the public/private partnership can work in our rural communities. This project was awarded over $600,000 in Home Program funding. Home funding is administered by the State of New York Housing Trust Fund Corporation, whose staff and process have been tremendously responsive to the rural housing need. This funding makes it possible to keep rents affordable, while renting to the senior population at or below 50% of the area's median income. The Village of Argyle will benefit from this public/private investment. It will also support regional economic development through utilizing local building materials as well as local contract labor, and private construction financing through Evergreen Bank.
